Fall Break in the Village at GatlinburgHey friends and family! I wanted to get a blog up and running before Matthew arrives in April. I know that once he gets here I will be too busy. This first post is just a getting-to-know-me post so everyone knows where to find us for news and updates.
As most of you know, David and I are expecting our second child in April. We learned that he was a boy and began working on names right away. We finally agreed and settled on "Matthew Jeremiah". It was important to us to name our child after someone in the Bible as we had already done with Elijah (Daniel). We hope this blog will be a good way to keep all of you informed of our family news and share pictures and events with those of you who are unable to visit very often.
David & Elijah play at Nana'sI am still working at Southeastern Orthopaedics (SEO) in Knoxville. I love my job and everyone that I work with. David continues to work for Wackenhut Securities at K-25. We are praying that he will get a day shift soon since the swing shifts get old. The shifts help out though when it comes to picking Elijah up from school. They may also come in handy when Matthew arrives. I suppose they are a blessing and a curse. David is also taking classes to receive his Bachelor's Degree in Criminology.
Elijah at Nana's House on Christmas
Elijah is 7 years old and is a football fanatic. He not only loves to play but watches on TV every chance he gets. His absolute favorite team is the Florida Gators much to the dismay of friends and family. Their disgust seems to fuel his adoration. He is in the first grade and kept the same teacher that he had for Kindergarten. The whole class "looped" with her. He really likes his teacher so it all worked out. He is doing great in school and is learning to read remarkably well.
This is all for now. I'll end with some pictures from the past few months. Hope you enjoy the blog. Stay posted!
